This piece brings together two things that sit at the heart of motorcycle culture—shared experience and the open road. At the centre is biker Gary France of Tour1 Motorcycle Adventures, riding his unmistakable chopper, flanked by fellow riders, including myself.
The bikes feel like they’re coming toward you, engines rumbling, tyres cutting through the road. There’s a sense of unity in the formation—each rider holding their line, but all connected. Gary’s presence anchors the piece, his chopper instantly recognisable, carrying both personality and miles of experience.
The paint handling keeps everything alive and in motion. Loose, layered strokes blur the edges just enough to suggest speed, while flashes of colour bounce across chrome and tarmac. Reflections and road textures merge together, giving the impression of a ride that’s constantly shifting, never still.
