This piece is inspired by a custom café racer I saw at the Bike Shed London show.
The sweeping exhaust, compact frame, and the hand-built feel of the components all come together as the heart of the bike. It’s not polished perfection—it’s crafted, shaped, and lived in, and that’s exactly what I wanted to capture.
The palette leans into metallics and deep tones, but broken up with unexpected flashes of colour—greens, yellows, and whites—that bring energy into the piece. The paint is layered and expressive, with splashes and textures that give the impression of motion, noise, and heat.
There’s also a contrast at play between the light and dark. The bike almost emerges from a shadowed background, as if caught under show lights or in a moment of reveal. It gives the piece a sense of drama, but also reflects how these bikes often exist—hidden away, then suddenly seen and appreciated.
Café racers have always been about making something your own, and this piece is a tribute to that mindset—the creativity, the imperfections, and the beauty of a machine built with intent.
