This piece was inspired by a moment of pure attitude at the starting line. Engines revving, tension in the air, and riders sizing each other up—then there was Cutlip. Calm, focused, and completely unfazed. While others brought noise and bravado, she brought quiet confidence, ready to take on the guys without hesitation.
The composition puts you right in front of her, head-on, as if you’re standing on the track watching it all unfold. She’s not there to prove anything—she’s there to win.
The painting itself mirrors that energy. Bold, explosive colour surrounds the rider—pinks, greens, oranges, and whites crashing across the canvas like sound and motion made visible. The brushwork is loose and expressive, giving the impression of speed, vibration, and adrenaline. It’s chaotic, but controlled—just like the moment before the race begins.
And then there’s the story behind it. She didn’t just line up—she took them on and beat them. Not just riding, but presence. Not just showing up, but owning it.
